History

Hotel Millennium Plaza was established with a vision to provide best-in-class hospitality in the heart of the industrial hub near Jamnagar. Located strategically on the Jamnagar-Dwarka Highway, the hotel was conceived with the future of Jamnagar and Reliance Industries' vision for the city in mind. We followed that vision to provide best-in-class hospitality in the area at a time when no one was investing there.

The construction of the hotel began around the year 1998 and was planned to start operations in the year 2000, hence the name Millennium Plaza. The project design and location were conceived by Mr. Arvind Shah, who meticulously planned its development to align with the region’s growth. The hotel was then furnished with state-of-the-art furniture and fixtures sourced from the famous Mumbai's Hotel Nataraj, which was being demolished to make way for the current Hotel Intercontinental on Marine Drive.

At the time of its inception, the Khavdi area had very limited hospitality infrastructure, with few or no established hotels. The establishment of Hotel Millennium Plaza was a pioneering effort to provide quality accommodations in anticipation of the region’s growth, especially with the expansion of major industrial projects. Over the years, the area has evolved significantly, now hosting over 20 hotels, reflecting its transformation into a bustling hub for business and tourism.

Since its inception, Hotel Millennium Plaza has been committed to offering a seamless blend of comfort, luxury, and efficiency. With well-furnished, air-conditioned rooms, a state-of-the-art swimming pool, a fully equipped gym, and exceptional dining facilities, the hotel quickly gained a reputation for excellence in hospitality.

Over the years, Millennium Plaza has gone through its share of economic cycles and challenges, including cyclones and earthquakes, yet it still stands today, continuing to provide best-in-class comfort and convenience. The area, which I now call the Khavdi Strip, was once a solitary endeavor but now boasts over 20 hotels. Despite the competition, Millennium Plaza remains true to its original purpose—offering best-in-class comfort at a logical and affordable price.
